Directions

Oatman is a quirky ghost town nestled in the Black Mountains of Arizona that's run by wild donkeys (literally, considering one of them is the mayor). The donkeys come to town most days to be fed by the tourists and locals which is allowed. However, you have to buy designated burro food (it's a few dollars) and do not feed them any apples or carrots due to the high sugar content. In the spring I hear there are usually quite a few babies as well. To get here you'll have to drive a windy portion of Route 66 with steep drop offs but beautiful views. This is a must do if you love donkeys, Route 66, and the wild west!
