Emerald Cave in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, is a stunning paddle destination about 1 hour from Las Vegas. Most paddlers launch from Willow Beach in Arizona, either with a rental or their own kayak/paddleboard. The paddle is roughly 2 miles each way, and the cave’s famous emerald glow is brightest when sunlight hits the water from late morning to early afternoon (around 11 am-2 pm).
