Piazza Dante in Naples is a bustling square named after the poet Dante Alighieri. Originally known as Largo del Mercatello, it underwent a transformation in the 18th century by architect Luigi Vanvitelli. The square features a statue of Dante sculpted by Tito Angelini and Tommaso Solari junior, surrounded by four monumental churches and historic buildings. After the construction of the Dante Station of Line 1, the square became pedestrianized, making it a vibrant hub for locals and visitors to enjoy.
