Seekopf

Directions

Nestled between Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl, the Three Lakes Area – often called "Little Canada" – features three of the warmest mountain lakes in the Bavarian Alps. The photo spot at the summit of Seekopf is reachable via a moderately steep hike and rewards with panoramic views, especially atmospheric in autumn when fog often blankets the valley below, creating a mystical and enchanted mood.

For a more accessible shot, a small, overgrown island in the Weitsee can be photographed directly from the Obersee parking area, with no hiking required. The entire area offers countless additional photo opportunities around the lakes, making it a rewarding destination for landscape photography year-round.
