Railay Beach in Krabi is one of the most popular beaches in all of Thailand and is known for its breathtaking limestone cliffs. While Railay Beach can get crowded during the day, you can also visit Ao Phra Nang which offers a more secluded and picturesque setting with monkeys roaming around and a unique cave to explore!

While Railay Beach is the one of the most popular beaches in Krabi I still recommend seeing it because it is popular for good reason. The limestone cliffs surrounding the beach are absolutely STUNNING.

We chose not to stay by Ao Nang Beach like most do due to the over-commercialised and overpriced almost amusement-park look to the town and instead stayed in Krabi town and visited Railay Beach on a 4-island boat tour. Unfortunately it was pouring down when we visited so we didn't really get the chance to explore properly, but trust me, it's worth going! Despite being insanely touristy.

If you do choose to stay by Ao Nang Beach you can also take boats to Railay Beach from here, which is the only way to reach Railay Beach and Ao Phra Nang. The boat costs 100-150 thb each way. You can also book boat tours out to the islands from either Ao Nang Beach or from Krabi town like we did, which often include Railay Beach as one of the stops.
