Alaska has a zoo in Anchorage, BUT this place should also be on your list of things to do. As a non-profit, the AWCC does amazing work in conservation and rehabilitation across the state. It's a great place to come and see Alaska's wildlife in a more natural habitat. Plus, its location sits in the middle of your travels from Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula so it works well as a stop along your route!

Cost is per person and the funds go to a great cause helping the center do more wildlife conservation work. Also the center has a looped road that you can drive and/or walk... having these options work great during all the weather seasons here! AWCC is open year-round!
