Hideaway Vineyard, Fejø - A Slice of Summer Magic
Few places capture the perfect summer vibe like Hideaway Vingård. Here, you’re greeted by a charming, Mediterranean-like atmosphere, with colorful buildings, exotic plants and trees, and views over the vineyard. This small 2.4-hectare organic vineyard produces wines so good they’re served in some of Denmark’s finest restaurants. Even for those of us who aren’t seasoned wine connoisseurs, the experience is utterly delightful.
Visitors can enjoy wine tastings, guided tours of the vineyard, and even overnight stays in simple, cozy vineyard cottages. During peak summer, a delicious lunch menu is also available.
We stayed in the Rondo cottage, the largest of the three at 20 sqm. From its terrace, we were treated to a stunning sunset while enjoying a three-course meal from Hideaway’s meal box for two.

Hideaway (Karins) Insider Tips
🌅 The vineyard and cottages are on Fejø’s highest point (18 m above sea level), giving beautiful views over the hills and out to sea from the terraces—best enjoyed with a cool glass of wine. The church by the coast also offers a stunning sea view.
🌊 Fejø has several lovely bathing piers; our favorites are the two at Vester Havn and the nearby beach.
🍦 Ro Naturcamp serves excellent coffee and small dishes, while Magiske Martha makes possibly the best ice cream on Fejø (and maybe all of Denmark!).
🥾 The island has several beautiful, marked hiking routes—our favorite is the 3.2 km coastal walk from Dybvig Harbor to Sletten Beach.
