What to order

Ginjinha – a small shot of sweet sour cherry liqueur, usually served with a cherry inside. You can ask “com ou sem” (with or without the cherry).

One of Lisbon’s classic ginjinha spots in the city centre. A tiny, no-frills counter where locals and visitors stop for a quick traditional drink.

Tip

Stand outside to drink like a local. It’s cash only and there can be a short queue at peak times. It’s stronger than it tastes, so sip it.
