De Wildt Adventure Trails is a great hiking spot that offers the biggest variety of routes. There are trails up to 20+km long as well as multi-day hikes for the more adventurous explorer or runners. Shorter trails are available too if you're just wanting to go for a walk, and the staff do a good job of helping you select which one is right for you. There really are many route options from 2 - 20km so there's something for everyone.

The trails are located near Hartebeespoort Dam so keep an eye for wildlife along the way! Vultures can sometimes be seen perched atop the mountain peaks as you trek up the Magaaliesburg escarpment.

If you're taking on the longer hikes be sure to pack a lunch and lots of water as you can't refill on the way.

Pro tip: The park closes before the sun sets but you can pre-arrange for a later hike and it's well worth it! Just call ahead and let them know.
