These white trees next too Pico Ruivo are the result of a big wildfire which happened on Madeira few years ago and forever changed the landscape. The trees are half way between Pico Ruivo and Achada do Teixeira, so you can stop here on your way back. If you’d like to also photograph the trees with sunlight, sunrise would be the best time for it.
