Praia de Benagil ("Benagil beach") is located in Benagil, Carvoeiro, Algerve, Portugal, and is the best point for you to access world-famous Gruta de Benagil ("Benagil cave"). O fishermen's village, Benagil was taken over by the tourism industry due to all the attractions this coastline has to offer.

At Praia de Benagil, it is possible to hire a boat ride that takes you all the way along this part of Algarve's coast, exploring several inaccessible beaches and coastal caves.

I personally (Greg) went for a swim and successfully reached Gruta de Benagil without the help from a local guide or a boat. I swam approximately 100 meters and arrived in the cave. The small waves were very easy to overcome.
