'An absolutely incredible view at the end of this walk. The walk itself is pretty full on consisting of a few stream crossings as well as a mix of different terrains. Recommend not doing it after a lot of rain as it can be quite muddy and slippery however if you do just make sure you have suitable footwear like tranping boots. There are a lot of wasps and bees so if you're allergic be careful. The end part involves a climb using a grab pole. The view at the end is breathtaking so if you do this walk make sure it's on a clear day. I wouldn't recommend doing unless you are going to go right to the top of the rock, if you plan on only going as far as the hut (stream track) it's a bit underwhelming... But if you continue to the top it's amazing and so worth it!!!'

'One of the best daywalks in Northland, no New Zealand even. I can't understand how this is not more well known or marketed. The view is absolutely amazing. Takes about 40min from the lane cove hut. The last bit requires pulling yourself up on the handrails (need strength, not afraid of heights). We walked from Wairakau Stream Track Carpark (2h to the hut) and took the water taxi back to Totara North 25$ pp. Can recommend this combination.'
