Morne de Saint-François is a lesser-known high point above Saint-Benoît, popular with local hikers but often missed by visitors. The trail climbs steadily through shady sections of tropical forest before opening out near the summit, where the views stretch toward the coast and across the Plaine des Palmistes. The trail is not too steep but can be muddy after rain.
At the top, you get a mix of grassy clearings and native flora with a few benches along the way. It’s a peaceful walk that doesn’t require a full-day commitment. The calm, the light, and the sense of elevation without the crowds make it feel like a secret.
👉 Go early in the morning to avoid cloud cover, and bring a walking stick if it's rained recently. The descent can be slippery.
