If you're heading to Anna Maria Island, you have to check out Bean Point. It’s tucked up at the very northern tip of the island and honestly one of my favorite spots in all of Florida. This part of the island is super quiet and untouched — no big hotels or crowds — just soft white sand and that classic Old Florida feel.
Bean Point is where the Gulf of Mexico meets Tampa Bay, so the views are huge and beautiful — especially around sunset. It’s perfect for a slow beach day: think shell hunting, long walks, or just posting up with a towel and taking it all in. And when the sun starts to set? It’s one of the best spots on the island. The colors stretch across the sky and there’s plenty of space to enjoy it without a bunch of people around.
Important note, though — while the water looks super inviting, swimming at Bean Point is strongly discouraged. City officials consider it a “No Swim Zone” because of dangerous rip currents and a history of drownings in the area. It’s just not worth the risk, so save the swimming for one of the island’s other beaches that are safer for getting in the water.
There’s no parking lot, so you’ll need to find street parking — look around Fern Street, Gladiolus Street, or Jacaranda Road, near the little footpath entrances. Be sure to park legally (tires completely off the road) to avoid a ticket.
If you want to beat the crowd, aim to get there before 9 AM. Unfortunately the free island trolley doesn’t go all the way to Bean Point, but it gets you close if you want to walk and make a day of it.
Just a heads-up — there are no restrooms, showers, or food at Bean Point. Bring water, snacks, shade, and whatever you need to be comfy.
