Here, if you have time before departure, you can wander around the old town of the capital Funchal and visit Farmers' market to try some exotic fruits, like the flower of monstera. On the market there is very good pastel aria with amazing small local cheesecake with passion fruit on top! Be aware, that market is closed on Sundays.
