The Consolation Lakes Trail near Moraine Lake in Banff National Park is a fantastic easy hike that offers stunning scenery without the crowds. The 3.9 mile round-trip trail takes hikers through a lush forest, past a rockslide, and along the shores of Babel Creek to reach the picturesque Consolation Lakes.

There isn't a ton of elevation gain on this hike (about 900 feet) but it will be a steady incline on the hike out.

This is a great way to access a more remote area of the park without a ton of hiking. Be sure to pack a lunch to enjoy on the rocks once you reach the Consolation Lakes area.

The trail ends at the near end of the lakes. However, if you'd like to scramble some boulders, you can reach the far end but it requires more effort and is more technical.
