Talk about adding insult to injury - not only did we miss the Toei Animation Museum, but it was FREE! My daughter (huge anime fan) is still giving me the side-eye about this one. I mean, who doesn't want to explore the history of one of Japan's biggest animation studios without paying a yen?
This place sounds like anime heaven - they've got stuff going all the way back to 1956, which is basically the stone age of anime. The interactive exhibits and production materials would've been fascinating even for casual fans, but for die-hards like my daughter? Pure gold.
Fair warning to other parents of anime enthusiasts: if you're anywhere near Nerima City and don't make it here, you might never hear the end of it. At least we can console ourselves with the thought that it'll still be free next time we visit! Just... maybe don't mention this one to my daughter.
