Bainskloof Pass is a scenic mountain pass in the Western Cape province of South Africa, connecting Wellington and Ceres. Built in 1854 by road engineer Andrew Geddes Bain using convict labor, this 18-kilometer route offers stunning views and reaches a height of 594 meters at its peak. The pass features the Witte River, with rapids, waterfalls, and natural pools along the way. After recent roadworks, it reopened to the public in June 2022, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and road trip enthusiasts.
