Iceland Parking & Entrance Fee Guide (Updated 2025)

💡 General Info:

  • Most popular tourist sites in Iceland now charge parking or entrance fees.

  • Payments are usually done via Parka or EasyPark apps. Install both before your trip.

  • In some cases, there may be QR codes on signs to pay directly via websites or at on site kiosks.

  • Read the signage carefully at each location. Fees vary by vehicle type (car, campervan, bus).

  • Processing fees may apply when using apps (especially EasyPark). Sometimes it’s cheaper to use QR code links directly.

South & Southeast Iceland

  • Jökulsárlón / Diamond Beach – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

    Covers both locations as they’re within walking distance.

  • Skaftafell / Svartifoss (Vatnajökull NP) – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

    ✳️ If you’ve paid a fee elsewhere in the national park on the same day (e.g. Jökulsárlón), you may get 50% off—check app or signage for details.

  • Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

  • DC-3 Plane Wreck (Sólheimasandur) – 750 ISK (Parka)

    🚶‍♂️ Note: Long walk. Shuttle is optional and extra. Many visitors say it’s overrated.

  • Sólheimajökull Glacier – 750 ISK (Parka)

  • Reynisfjara (Black Sand Beach) – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

  • Hjörleifshöfði / Yoda Cave / “Viking Park” – 1,000 ISK (EasyPark)

  • Gluggafoss – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

  • Skógafoss – Listed in Parka, fee needs confirmation.

  • Seljalandsfoss – 900 ISK (On-site kiosk)

    🚻 Toilets available.

  • Rútshellir Cave – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

    ⛔️ Often skipped, not a highly recommended stop.

  • Reykjadalur (Hot River) – 200 ISK (first hour), 250 ISK/hr after (EasyPark)

Southwest & Golden Circle

  • Thingvellir National Park – 1,000 ISK

    Multiple parking lots; check signs.

  • Geysir – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

  • Kerið Crater – 600 ISK

    🎟️ Paid per person at kiosk, even if walking in.

  • Bruárfoss – 750 ISK (Parka)

Reykjanes Peninsula

  • Fagradalsfjall Volcano – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

    🧭 Park at P1 unless instructed otherwise.

  • Ytri-Tunga (Seal Beach) – 750–1,000 ISK (kiosk or CheckIt.is)

  • Kirkjufell – 1,000 ISK

  • Glanni Waterfall – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

  • Landmannalaugar – 1,200 ISK and up

    🛑 Pre-booking required between June 20–Sept 14, 9:00–16:00.

    🚗 No guaranteed parking without reservation.

  • Stuðlagil Canyon – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

  • Hverir Geothermal Area – 1,200 ISK (Parka)

    ⛔️ Not well-reviewed; consider skipping.

  • Hverfjall Crater – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

  • Vaðlaheiði Tunnel (North Iceland) – 2,120 ISK

Westfjords

  • Dynjandi Waterfall – 750 ISK

    Pay via QR code or online (check signage).

  • Illugastaðir – 1,000 ISK (Parka)

  • Bolafjall - 1,000 ISK (Parka)

East Iceland

  • Stokksnes / Vestrahorn – 1,100 ISK

    🎟️ Paid per person at Viking Café (not per vehicle).

    👶 Kids under 16 enter free.
