Elgjestraum in Norway is an ideal hike for outdoor adventurers seeking an unforgettable experience in nature. Located just outside of the village of Øvre Årdal, the Elgjestraum route winds up into Jotunheimen National Park through spruce and birch forests, offering breathtaking views of the Fortun Valley below. Along the way, hikers can traverse past a rocky mountain pass and wildflower-covered meadows before reaching a beautiful glacial lake at the top of the trail. This 8-mile round trip is steep at times and can take 4 to 6 hours to complete depending on weather and fitness level.
