Cobbler Path is undoubtedly one of my top picks for hiking in the St. John’s area. Stretching from Red Cliff to Outer Cove, this segment of the East Coast Trail is perfect for a quick outdoor adventure, taking just 1-2 hours to complete one way. The flexibility to park at either end or double back makes it easily accessible whether you’re up for a short trek or a longer return journey.
What I love about Cobbler Path is the sheer beauty of the landscape. The trail skirts along a stunning coastline with towering cliffs that offer dramatic views of the North Atlantic. During migration season, it’s also a fantastic spot for whale watching. There’s something truly magical about watching whales breach in the distance against such a spectacular backdrop.
