The Plaza de Toros de Ronda is one of the most unique and exciting bullfighting rings in Spain. Located on the Western edge of Ronda, it is surrounded by beautiful scenery and offers unparalleled access to nature and views of El Tajo canyon. This stunning bullring is 66 meters (217 ft) in diameter and features a two-ring structure with five raised seating rows and 136 pillars arranged into 68 arches. Completed in 1785, the architecture pays homage to its Spanish heritage, with a main entrance adorned with two Tuscan columns and a royal shield of the nation. Bullfighting has been held here since its opening, and it continues to entertain spectators today with a Feria Goyesca every September in honour of Pedro Romero, one of history’s most famous bullfighters. The bullring also houses a museum that contains over two centuries of regalia and important artifacts. It has even had Hollywood stardom, as Madonna shot her music video “Take A Bow” here in 1994. Whether you are interested in bullfighting or taking in some of Spain’s culture and history, the Plaza de Toros de Ronda will amaze all who visit.
