Just a stone's throw from the city center, you'll find a lovely escape on the Koivusaari Nature Trail. This easy 2.5 km walk takes you over the waters of the Ounasjoki river delta entirely on wooden duckboards, making for a unique experience. It's a fantastic spot for birdwatching, especially from the floating observation tower, and offers beautiful views back towards the city. The trail starts near the Ounaspaviljonki parking area, but be aware that during the spring floods, parts of the path can be underwater.
