Wiadomość od Katarína Lepšíková

The National Monument at Vítkov Hill in Prague's Žižkov district is a significant building honoring Czech statehood. It features a massive bronze statue of Jan Žižka, who triumphed over Catholic forces in the Battle of Vítkov Hill in 1420. The monument also houses the Ceremonial Hall, an exhibition on Czech and Czechoslovak statehood, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and other exhibits. Originally built in honor of World War I Czechoslovak legionaries, the monument has undergone various transformations over the years, including serving as a mausoleum for Klement Gottwald during the Communist regime.
