Kifune-jinja Shrine is a memorable shrine located in the dreamy village of Kibune, Kyoto. The shrine is dedicated to the god of water and according to local legend, a goddess arrived at Kifune in a yellow boat which can still be seen today beneath the large stones which mark its landing. At Kifune-jinja Shrine, tourists can pick up a paper fortune (omikuji) for 200 yen and take some unique photos of the stone steps that lead up to the shrine lined with red lanterns! There are also numerous ryokan and cedar forests in this quaint village. Locals and food traders often visit Kifune-jinja Shrine to pray for business success. To experience nature and the beauty of the mountains and forests, visitors can embark on a memorable hike beginning in Kibune and finishing in Kurama. Those visiting during the summer and autumn months can take advantage of the heat relief provided by the mountains or the dazzling autumn colors. Visitors can also enjoy a truly satisfying dining experience where they can savor fresh seafood while admiring the flow of the Kibune River below. Come and experience the sacred energy of Kifune-jinja Shrine - you won't regret it!
