Perched on Riffelberg mountain at 2,548 meters, Riffelhaus 1853 is all about unforgettable views of the Matterhorn. With just 25 cozy rooms and suites, the service feels more intimate and personalised, and that crazy view out the bedroom's window makes you almost feel like you could touch the Matterhorn. They are exceptionally popular for their incredible gorgeous spa + hot tub facing the Matterhorn, and honestly I cannot imagine any place more scenic and relaxing as this.

The hotel is next to Riffelberg station itself and you would need to take the Gornergratbahn to come up here. While you won't have easy access to Zermatt Old Town, what you have instead is the surreal peace and quiet in the evenings after the daytrippers have left the mountain.
