Mark the gas stations on the map

This sounds like an obvious tip, but it’s important to make a note of it.

There are plenty of gas stations all around Crete, of course, but especially if you’re planning to go off-the-beaten-track then it’s never a bad idea to mark the gas stations on the map, so you know where the closest one to you might be.

Also, if possible, call them as well beforehand in order to make sure they’re open at the time you need to fill up.
