Lake Thun (aka Thunersee) is a large beautiful lake just west of Interlaken. Taking a boat tour is a fun and easy way to enjoy the spectacular scenery without much work.

Suggested day trips
Option A: Train from Interlaken to Thun in the morning (30 mins). Explore the village for a couple hours. Then catch the 11:40 boat, arriving back in Interlaken at 13:49.
Option B: In Interlaken, board 14:10 boat, arriving in Thun at 16:20. Then explore the village and have an early dinner in Thun. Train back to Interlaken.

The Lake Thun boats run year round. The schedule changes based on the season, so check timetables carefully to make sure it's valid on your travel dates.
In winter (mid Dec to March), there is one boat in each direction every day. On weekends and holidays, there are 1-2 more boats.

Tickets
The boat ride is free with the Swiss Travel Pass, Bernese Oberland Pass, GA, Saver Day Pass and Jungfrau Travel Pass.
Without a travel pass, you can buy tickets on the SBB Mobile app, ticket machines, ticket office at some docks, and on the boat. The ticket price depends on far you ride the boat.
