Any Tunisian will tell you that the best beaches in Tunisia can be found on Djerba Island. Think white sand, turquoise water, and camels walking down the beach. Djerba also has an international airport, so many travelers come straight to Djerba, stay here, and visit some of the southern sections of the mainland on a tour or road trip. This island offers palm-lined beaches, gorgeous blue water, and an incredibly diverse culture. Of course, if you’re so inclined, you should ride a camel down the beach. Beyond the beach, you should also explore Houmt Souk, Djerbahood, and visit the El Ghriba Synagogue.
