If you want to take sandboarding to the next level, Dito Sand XSports is the place to do it. This company is owned and operated by members of the Peruvian Olympic ski and snowboard team, and they’ve turned the massive dunes of Huacachina into their playground.

We tried both sandboarding and sandskiing (something we didn’t even know existed before coming here!) Sandboarding was thrilling, but sandskiing felt even more unique, like carving turns on snow but on golden sand. It was equal parts hilarious and exhilarating, and Danny had one unforgettable wipeout that we still laugh about.

The guides were fantastic! They were encouraging, professional, and clearly passionate about the sport. They even gave us tips to improve our technique and made sure everyone felt comfortable, no matter their skill level.

Pro Tip: Wear long sleeves and bring water. And don’t worry if you’re a beginner, the instructors are great at teaching first-timers.
