🔎 Overview:

• Location: Nidwalden / Uri in Central Switzerland

• Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging

• Distance: ~9km

• Elevation Gain: ~570m

• Best Season: Late June to October (Don't go if there is snow)

🏔️Highlights

• Panoramic summit views from 2407 meters

• Varied trail through meadows, and rocky alpine terrain

• Views of Lake Lucerne, Uri Alps, Engelberg, and even the Bernese Alps

• A less-touristy but demanding alternative to nearby peaks
  

🚗Getting There

• Go to the cable car station Niederrickenbach in Dallenwil.

• Take the cable car to Niederrickenbach

• Walk 30mins to the Lift that takes you to Haldigrat which is the starting point for the hike

🥾Trail Description

• Start your hike at the Berggasthaus Haldigrat and you will hike to the Brisen.

• You can then do two things: either go the same way back or what I did: continue to Klewenalp, which adds around 2-2.5 hours to the journey but is absolutely worth it!

• You can either take the cable car down from Klewenalp or stop over at the Brisenhaus hut, so you can experience a sunset or a sunrise in the area before you leave.

• Also don't miss out the Brisenhaus SAC hut if you only want to get a refreshment for along the way.
