From the main free car park, a short, accessible path leads you directly to the upper observation deck for that picture-perfect view you've seen. For a different perspective, I highly recommend the half-mile trail down to the river level; it's a bit of a steep walk back up, but feeling the mist on your face from the base of the falls is an unforgettable experience.
