This little hike starts at Gais and quickly leads up to the peak of Hoher Hirschberg, which reminds more of a hill than a mountain. Still, the views are great: you can see lake Bodensee, but also the Alpstein massive in the same time. Like this, it is the perfect spot for an afternoon walk, but also to enjoy sunset. On the top you find a restaurant, which we really can recommend (see link below). When we were there, we took our way back down to the town of Appenzell to see more than just the same path we went up again.
