Visitors can explore the nearby Kikko Park, where they will find 19th-century buildings reminiscent of samurai families’ homes. Taking the short ropeway ride to Iwakuni Castle brings them to the castle museum where samurai armor and artifacts can be found, in addition to the observatory offering spectacular views of Iwakuni and the bridge itself. During April, cherry blossoms surround the bridge while in autumn, gorgeous foliage embellish the landscape. There is also a water playground and fountain that visitors can enjoy during the summer months.
