Gloucester Cathedral, located in Gloucester, England, is a historic church with roots dating back to around 679.

Originally founded as a minster by Osric of Hwicce, it later became an abbey under the Benedictine Order. After a series of fires and rebuildings, the present cathedral was constructed starting in 1089.

With royal connections and notable events like Henry III's coronation, the cathedral has undergone various renovations over the centuries. It even served as a filming location for the Harry Potter movies.

Today, it stands as a Grade I listed building and continues to be a significant landmark in Gloucester.

It is of course an active place of worship, so do plan your visit accordingly. Make sure you climb the tower and, if you can, listen to some live choral music.
