The Omanawanui Track is located in the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park in Auckland's west coast, and is a fantastic and scenic track for hikers of all levels. Starting from the car park at Whatipu, the track will initially take you up through forested sections, crossing over boardwalks and experiencing tunnels of mānuka, harakeke, kawakawa and gorse. The views become more impressive as it leads you to the highest point of Pt241 where panoramic views overlooking Manukau Harbour await. Adventurists should consider continuing further along the Puriri Ridge Track to Karamatura Track which stretches all the way to Huia. Whatever your choice, there is something beautiful and interesting to be found in the Omanawanui Track.
