🇺🇸 Imagine stepping into the Grutas de Santo António with that feeling of entering a secret natural hall — it’s simply fascinating. We walk through an artificial access tunnel, about 30 meters long, which opens into a giant chamber of around 6,000 m², 80 meters wide and 45 meters high — a true spectacle sculpted by nature.
Inside, stalactites and stalagmites form real limestone statues, like delicate natural sculptures. One of the most magical moments is finding the so-called “Sala de Fátima”, where a stalagmite resembles the image of Our Lady with the Child — a breathtaking work of art created by nature itself.
The temperature inside remains stable and refreshing all year round — between 16 °C and 18 °C — and the lighting highlights the soft colors of the geological formations, creating an enchanting and welcoming atmosphere.
