🇧🇷 Barcelos, situada no norte de Portugal, bem pertinho de Braga, é um município que transborda cultura e atrações locais. Ela é super conhecida pelo seu emblema, o Galo de Barcelos – essa figura que representa uma espécie de providência divina e que você encontra por vários cantinhos de Portugal. Desde a Ponte de 1325 até ao palácio a céu aberto dos Duques de Bragança, que vem lá do século XV, Barcelos é um lugar onde cada esquina respira história. Ou seja, é perfeito pra quem quer viajar e explorar a cultura e a história de Portugal. Anota aí: Barcelos tem a maior feira do país (dá pra comprar um monte de coisas legais, como artesanato e produtos típicos) que acontece às quintas-feiras, e no final de cada semana do mês rola a feira das velharias.

A cidade pode ser percorrida a pé. O que visitar em Barcelos:

📍Saia procurando pelos galos da cidade (nós contamos 9 galos, mas tem bem mais);

📍Largo da Porta Nova: Onde ficam alguns cafés e restaurantes e casas tradicionais. Fica em frente ao Templo do Bom Jesus da Cruz.

📍Largo do Apoio: Era uma antiga praça medieval, o cantinho mais antigo da cidade. No centro da praça tem um chafariz renascentista.

📍 Torre Medieval: A Torre é do séc.XV, e onde está o Posto de turismo e exposição de artesanatos da região. Suba até o topo e veja a vista bonita do centro histórico e do Rio Cávado!

📍Jardim das Barrocas: Fica todo lindo e florido, principalmente na primavera

📍Museu da Olaria: Museu da vida do campo, exposição de galos e obras de artistas

📍Paço dos Condes e Pelourinho: Fica em frente a Igreja da Matriz. Tem a vista bonita do outro lado da cidade

📍Barcelinhos: atravesse a ponte medieval e veja a cidade de Barcelos, olhe o moinho que fica ao lado da ponte.

🧁Padaria Colonial: Prove a Queijada da Casa e o Bolinho de café com caramelo (não é o tradicional, é invenção do chef, mas é o que mais gostamos)

From the 1325 Bridge to the open-air palace of the Dukes of Bragança from the 15th century, Barcelos boasts historical sites at every turn, making it an ideal destination to explore and discover Portugal's culture and history. Make note that Barcelos is home to the largest fair in the country (offering a variety of products, including crafts and regional goods) every Thursday, and at the end of each weekend of the month, there's the flea market.

📍Stroll around searching for the city's roosters (we spotted 9 of them).

📍Largo da Porta Nova: Where you'll find cafés, restaurants, and traditional houses. It faces the Temple of Bom Jesus da Cruz.

📍Largo do Apoio: Once an old medieval square, it's the oldest corner of the city. In the center of the square, there's a Renaissance fountain.

📍Medieval Tower: Dating back to the 15th century, the tower houses the tourist information center and showcases regional crafts. Climb to the top for a beautiful view of the historic center and the Cávado River!

📍Jardim das Barrocas: Particularly charming and flower-filled, especially in spring.

📍Museu da Olaria (Pottery Museum): Offers insight into rural life, exhibitions of roosters, and artworks.

📍Paço dos Condes and Pelourinho: Situated in front of the Matriz Church, it provides a lovely view of the city from the opposite side.

📍Barcelinhos: Cross the medieval bridge and catch a view of Barcelos, and don't forget to check out the mill beside the bridge.

🧁Padaria Colonial (Colonial Bakery): Try the house's "Queijada" (cheesecake) and the coffee cake with caramel (it's not traditional, it's the chef's invention, and it's our favorite).
