Gluggafoss, also known as Merkjarfoss, is another of the most beautiful hidden gem waterfalls located in South Iceland. It's tucked away down a side road on the south coast, yet so many people drive past this on the way to the famous Skogafoss.

Nestled in a picturesque landscape, its unique rock formations create natural "windows" or "gluggas," which is what gives the waterfall its name. The area around Gluggafoss is lush and green, making it a perfect spot for a walk or a picnic. We absolutely loved this place, and it's a wonderful hidden gem in South Iceland.
