The Olympic Ski Jump in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a legendary spot where winter sports history was made back in 1936. Standing tall at 149 meters, it's where fearless athletes defied gravity and thrilled crowds with their jumps. The ski jumps still remain and are still in use.
If you happen to visit over New Year’s, you can buy tickets to watch the ski jump competition (Neujahrspringen).
Watch the movie Eddie the Eagle, which was partly filmed in Garmisch, to see the ski jumps in action!
For daredevils, try out the Flying Fox, a giant zipline that starts at the top of the ski jump and ends in the stadium.
There is also an alpine coaster just outside the stadium. It is a short track but relatively inexpensive.
