Tenju-an is a small Zen temple nestled at the foot of Higashiyama mountains in Kyoto. It offers two serene gardens that offer different atmospheres: the east garden with a calming dry landscape and the south garden with a bamboo grove and koi ponds. While the temple itself is not open to visitors, the gardens are a peaceful retreat, especially after exploring the more popular places of Kyoto for some peace and quiet.
