A few kilometers from Mirador Las Peñitas are the Morro Velosa statues that dominate Fuerteventura and are the ancient kings of the island itself. Created by Emiliano Hernandez, they are absolutely stunning to see on your road trip through this area. Guise and Ayose, who ruled the two regions (Jandía and Maxorata) until the islands were conquered by the Spanish in 1402.
