Stable Stop Horse Riding

Riding in the Icelandic countryside
Going for a ride in the Icelandic countryside is always a lot of fun. So try to squeeze in a riding tour if you can!
At Stable Stop you won't be riding in a massive group, so you'll have a super personal experience. The owners and staff at Stable Stop always make me feel at home and they have fun horses to ride. If you have experience, this is the perfect place to book a ride.
I've gone on several rides here and always had a great time. the route through the forest is really nice, because you don't have so many forests in Iceland.
Just remember that Icelandic horses are smaller than regular horses. They are strong, but their weight limit is usually about 100 kg / 220 lbs.
Bolugil Waterfall
Cachoeira
Hidden waterfall in a beautiful canyon
Truly a hidden gem, this waterfall. Even most locals I tell about this place have never been there or didn't even know about it.
This waterfall is a short hike from the dirt road you can park your car at. Just drive up the road and stop just before the little bridge (that is closed). You can park your car here and walk on the west side of the river up to the canyon with the waterfall.
Hólar
cultura
Horses and history
The tiny town of Hólar is nowadays known for its university where you can study everything about Icelandic horses. But Hólar is also one of the most famous historical sites in Iceland.
You’ll find the oldest stone church of Iceland here. And there’s some turf houses too.
During the last weekend of September one of the biggest horse round ups is held in Laufskálaréttir (just outside of Hólar).
Grafarkirkja (The oldest church in Iceland)

Oldest church in Iceland
Iceland's oldest turf church is a little gem. It is situated in the middle of nowhere and looks very good for its age. Parts of the church are from the 17th century.
Unfortunately it is not possible to go into the church, but wandering around it and just enjoying the scenery and this tiny church in it, is well worth the visit too.
Hofsós Sundlaug
Primavera quente
One of the prettiest pools
In one of the tiniest towns, you'll find one of the prettiest pools of Iceland. You have a great view over the ocean while you are swimming your laps, or while sitting in the hot tub.
Next to the parking lot there's a path towards the sea where you can go and see the basalt columns. There's a stairs going down towards the sea where you can see them.
Frida Chocolate

Cutest caffee in Siglufjörður
Sometimes you just need some chocolate. And in Siglufjörður you are in for a treat (literally) because Frida has some great chocolate. And the café itself is also really cute!
