The Giralda is a stunning ancient bell tower situated in Seville, Spain. Built as a minaret of the Great Mosque of Seville and completed in 1198, the tower was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987 due to its magnificent Moorish architecture. The height of the base is 15-16 meters while the main shaft towers 50.51 meters tall. At the peak of the tower sits four precious metal spheres which commemorate a victory of al-Mansur over Alfonso VIII of Castile. It’s truly an awe inspiring sight for visitors from all over who come to marvel at the architectural artistry.
