The Stratford Greenway is such a lovely, easy ride for families – flat, traffic-free, and super scenic. We only did half of it (about 2.5 miles each way), which took us from The Greenway car park to the converted train carriage café at Milcote, and then we headed back – 5 miles total and the kids smashed it on their bikes!

☕️ Carriage Cafés at Both Ends
You’ve got Bobby’s Café at the start in Stratford right off The Greenway car park– great coffee, really good food, and lots of space to park up your bikes. And at the halfway point (where we turned around), there’s another converted train carriage café with outdoor seating and snacks to refuel.

🛝 The Recreation Ground at Stratford End
Back at the start/finish, don’t miss the Recreation Ground – it’s honestly one of the best parks we’ve been to:

• Play road with working traffic lights, crossings, and even mini roundabouts

• Two playgrounds: one absolutely huge with a sandpit, climbing frames and toilets nearby, and a smaller wooden one with a zipline and a slide down the hill next to the play road

Good to Know

• Great for bikes, scooters and accessible for wheelchairs/buggies - the only tricky part is that you have to cross a bridge (up steps) to get over the river to the rec ground BUT if you don't want to you can just jump back in the car when you're back at The Greenway car park and drive 2 minutes around to the recreation ground car park

• Loads of parking near the Rec and at The Greenway car park - both pay and display

• Cafés at both ends

• Toilets available near the big play area
