With over 700 ski resorts in Japan, it gets difficult in choosing which one to visit. Naeba Ski Resort is one of my picks in the Yuzawa area because it has some great powder snow at the top of the resort. Since the majority of skiers and boarders are doing to easy runs there's usually a high chance that you'll get some fresh stuff!

The whole resort is also very convenient and has become more focused on domestic and Chinese tourists. I have previously stayed at the hotel and it's set up like you don't need to leave the building - only for skiing.

The resort is also connected to Kagura Ski Resort via the Dragondola gondola, providing even more skiing and snowboarding options. This long gondola does take time and going back and fourth can chip into your ski time. Plan wisely and be prepared to miss some skiing for the views.
