Saki-no-Yu Onsen is located in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture, and is known as one of Japan’s oldest seaside hot springs. Its open-air baths are built directly into the rocky coastline, allowing bathers to experience the sight and sound of waves crashing against the shore while soaking in naturally heated waters.

The mineral-rich waters are divided into gender-separated baths, each offering uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean. With over a thousand years of history, the onsen holds cultural significance and continues to attract visitors for its connection to the region's past.

Saki-no-Yu is situated near Shirarahama Beach and other notable locations in the area, making it a stop of interest for those exploring Wakayama Prefecture. It is accessible by bus or car from Shirahama Station and is within reach of Kansai International Airport.

Entry is 500 yen and hours usually 8AM to 5PM besides these times of the year:
7AM to 7PM(July 1 to August 31)
8AM to 6PM(April 1 to June 30, September 1 to September 30)

Visitors with tattoos are welcome!
