For one of the most dramatic entrances to the ocean, you have to take the iconic stairway down to the beach at Heisler Park. As you descend, the sweeping coastal views open up, making it a perfect spot for photos, especially around sunset. The stairs lead you to a beautiful rocky cove where you can explore tide pools at low tide. Parking is metered along Cliff Drive, and from your car, it's just a short, scenic stroll through the park's gardens to the top of the stairway.
