For a truly memorable walk, head just above the village of Ponta do Sol to the Levada do Moinho. This fantastic loop trail follows two irrigation channels, guiding you through a lush valley with incredible views. The highlight for many is the section on the upper levada, where the path leads you directly behind a cascading waterfall before plunging into a dark tunnel—don't forget your phone light! The full 8.5 km (about 5.3 miles) walk is mostly flat and takes around 3 to 4 hours, starting and finishing near the Lombada church where parking can be found.
