The Forty Foot is a promontory located on the southern tip of Dublin Bay in Sandycove, County Dublin, Ireland. For over two centuries, individuals have been taking a daily dip in the Irish Sea near this location. It initially served as an exclusive spot for male bathers but has since opened its doors to all genders. In July of 1974, a dozen women took part in a protest challenging the gender-restriction, marking the beginning of the site's modern-day reign.
